Justice Scalia to Address Conservative Constitutional Seminar
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) released the following statement about the inaugural Conservative Constitutional Seminar, which is scheduled for January 24, 2011:
“I am delighted that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has accepted my invitation to speak to members of Congress about the separation of powers. It is a special privilege to have him address the first of what will be regular seminars featuring constitutional scholars. In his 24 years of service on the high court, Justice Scalia has distinguished himself by his ‘originalist’ approach to constitutional interpretation.”
Conservative Constitutional Seminars will be held at least twice monthly for members of Congress. They are being organized in conjunction with the Tea Party Caucus, which is chaired by Congresswoman Bachmann, who founded it in July 2010. The House Constitution Caucus, which is chaired by Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ), is also providing assistance.
