'Nutcracker' Tea Party in Southport

SOUTHPORT -- The Robert Ruark Society, together with the City of Southport, will present a "Nutcracker" Tea Party at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Southport Community Building. The event is part of Southport Winterfest 2017 and proceeds will go toward the continued restoration of Fort Johnston Garrison House.

Participants will enjoy a traditional “Afternoon Tea,” a special presentation on Victorian Christmas traditions by historians Lori Sanderlin and Jim McKee, and an appearance by dancers from the Wilmington Ballet Company. There will also be additional opportunities to further support this cause via a special holiday auction and small holiday gifts.

Advance tickets are required and will be available for $35 at Ricky Evans Gallery. Table sponsorships are available in advance for $360. This provides sponsors with a table in their honor and eight tickets to the tea. To sponsor call 910-363-4169.
