The cast of Sabrina

As much as we love the Netflix series, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, nothing will ever compare to the iconic OG show from the nineties and noughties. Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a key part of our Saturday mornings and who didn't wish they could change their outfit with a point of the finger? Or more importantly, have a cat familiar who was as shady as Salem?

In celebration of all things Sabrina, now is the right time to catch up with our characters from the original show.

Melissa Joan Hart - Sabrina

Melissa became a household name thanks to Sabrina (and Clarissa Explains It All, ofc) and it's no surprise that the talented actress went on to enjoy a successful TV career once the show ended.

In recent years she has starred in countless TV movies including The Bad Guardian alongside La La Anthony and several Christmas films. She also took part in The Masked Singer and Dancing with the Stars.

The actress married Mark Wilkerson in 2003 and they have three children together; Mason Walter Wilkerson (born January 2006), Braydon "Brady" Hart Wilkerson (born March 2008) and Tucker McFadden Wilkerson (born September 2012).

Melissa has been open about her and her family’s Christian faith, revealing in interviews that they attend church every Sunday and pray every night and before every meal.

Caroline Rhea - Aunt Hilda

Aunt Hilda was a fan favourite on the show; hilariously funny, though not without her heartbreak (her love story with Will the train conductor still makes us emotional).

Caroline Rhea was the woman behind the famous aunt and after her role was reduced when Sabrina went to college, she went on to host her very own talk show. She's also a successful comedian and has toured around the world.

Nowadays, Caroline can be heard voicing Linda Flynn-Fletcher on Disney's animated show Phineas and Ferb as well as appearing in guest roles on US comedies like Baby Daddy and 2 Broke Girls.

She has one daughter, Ava, who was born in 2008.

Beth Broderick - Aunt Zelda

Beth played the role of sensible sister Zelda so perfectly, so we’re glad she decided to carry on working in TV once the show wrapped.

After Sabrina came to an end, she starred as the recurring character Rose Twitchell on the Stephen King and Steven Spielberg TV series Under the Dome and was reunited with Melissa Joan Hart in 2014 when she made two guest appearances as Dr. Ellen Radier in Melissa & Joey.

Beth is also a noted philanthropist and has been active in the battle against AIDS since 1984. She’s the founding director of Momentum - one of the first organisations in New York established to assist people with AIDS.

Nate Richert - Harvey

Harvey looks a liiittle different…

The windswept, chiselled and clean-shaven Harvey that we grew up loving as Sabrina's love interest has definitely gone. But we're loving Nate's alternative, edgy vibes.

Nate chose to give up acting and instead pursued a career in music, which he still enjoys making.

Jenna Leigh Green - Libby

The 'villain' of the show, Libby was the bully we loved to hate until she left the show after its fourth season.

Since exiting the show, Jenna has enjoyed a successful career on stage and even kept with the magic theme when she toured North America with Wicked.

She has also had guest roles on US TV shows like ER, Ghost Whisperer and Bones.

Lindsay Sloane - Valerie

Valerie was Sabrina's shoulder to cry on and her best friend in high school.

After three years on the show, Lindsay left and has since appeared in numerous TV shows and films.

You’ve probably seen her in the likes of Bring It On, The Other Guys, Horrible Bosses - and its sequel.

She can also be seen as Emily in Matthew Perry's sitcom The Odd Couple.

Valerie married Dar Rollins in 2004 and the couple have two daughters, Maxwell Lue and Pippa Jean.

Martin Mull - Willard Kraft

Veteran actor Martin Mull was the man behind this magical role.

Mr Kraft was the head teacher of Westbridge High, Sabrina's high school, and also the on/off boyfriend of both Hilda and Zelda. Legend.

Mull enjoyed a successful career including turns in Roseanne, Community and Two and a Half Men. He sadly passed away 27 June 2024, leaving his daughter, Maggie Mull and wife Wendy Haas.

Nick Bakay - Salem

The fabulous Spellman family pet, Salem, was voiced by Nick Bakay, who was also a writer on the show.

Nick has a whole host of other writing credits including The Queen of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and cartoon spin-off Sabrina, the Animated Series.

Salem has since become a bit of a meme hit, but what else did we expect from the star of the show?
