When is the Europa League final? Date, kick-off time, venue and TV details

The latest Manchester United news ahead of the Europa League Final later this month

Manchester United will be hoping it's their name on the Europa League trophy.

Manchester United knew they'd given themselves a brilliant foundation to reach the Europa League final after a 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium last week.

It's been a dismal domestic campaign for United, who currently sit in 15th spot in the Premier League with just 39 points taken from 35 games and also crashed out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the early rounds of the competitions.

Their European adventure has been a mich more promising one, currently unbeaten in the Europa League this season before taking on Athletic Bilbao in the second leg at Old Trafford this evening.

The La Liga side were many people's favourites to win the competition, but Ruben Amorim's side turned in an impressive display on the road with Ernesto Valverde's side reduced to ten men when Dani Vivian was sent off after 35 minutes. A header from Casemiro and brace from Bruno Fernandes gave United a huge advantage heading into the second-leg.

With United in pole position to qualify, The Manchester Evening News has all the information you need to know ahead of the final...

When and where is the final?

The Europa League Final will be held at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain, on Wednesday, 21, May 2025. United supporters will be in familiar surroundings after their trip to the Basque province for the first-leg of the Europa League semi-final earlier this month.

It’s the first time the arena has hosted a Men’s European final after hosting the Women’s Champions League final last season. UEFA gave the green light for the stadium to host both events as a consolation for missing out on hosting matches at the EURO 2020 Championships.

What time will the final kick-off?

The final will kick-off at 8pm at the San Mamés Stadium.

Who will Man United face in the final?

If they get there, Manchester United will face either Tottenham Hotspur or Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt with Spurs leading 3-1 on aggregate ahead of the secong leg.

Will the match be shown on TV?

Yes the match will be broadcast live on TV with a number of broadcast partners across the world.
