It may be a bit on the chilly side at the moment but come the summer, we will all be out and about without having to wrap up in so many layers.

In fact, some of us will be wearing no layers at all.

This is because a nude festival is heading to the South West this summer and activities will include fire walking, a barn dance with a rodeo horse, fishing and a sci-fi ‘Mothership Adventure’ themed night.

Nudefest is taking place at Thorney Lakes Camping and Caravan Park near Langport, approximately an 1hr 25 minutes from Bath.

It’s not the first time the rural spot has hosted the popular event. This year will be the third year for British Naturism to run their week-long event festival. And now the organisation has announced, this year's festival will be 'even greater' than the festival in 2017.

Last year organiser Nigel Pinkstone refused to confirm the festival's future when interviewed in July, but has now provided confirmation that it will be back, reports Somerset Live.

Nigel said: "Yes, we will be coming back.

"Thorney Lakes was great and our members had a great time, with loads more naturists joining us this year - so many that we ran out of wristbands!

"We also had people from Ireland, South Africa, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, so word is spreading.

When is it taking place?

Nudefest 2018 will be held at Thorney Lakes between Monday, July 9 and Monday, July 16, 2018.

A spokesperson for the event said: “The large rural site will be completely clothes free from 1700hrs on the Monday which gives early birds time to strip off and catch up with friends prior to the official opening at 1500hrs on Tuesday.
